Barak Obama's Assasination and the Boyott of US Goods

My worst nightmares were realized when I read the Times article online on the rise of hatred groups in the United States after Barak Obama became the United States next president. While the northern half of the United States may be well educated, the southern hemisphere of the United States is still backwards in education and thinking, and this reflects the rise of white supremacist groups in the South .

The first thing my wife mentioned to me when Barak Obama was elected as the next president was when will he be assassinated? Barak Obama is the best thing that has happened to the United States for a long time and our worry is that some American fool will assassinate him just because of the color of his skin. It will not be easy for Obama to change America especially the greedy Republicans but I hope Obama's the spark the whole world has been waiting for after George's Bush calamity rule of the United States. Despite making numerous blunders, President Bush still had the cheek to ask his staff to take control of the balance USD350 billion bailout fund still left . He is afraid his "cronies" wont be getting any of it once President-Elect Obama takes over.

In Malaysia, a boycott of US goods have been called. If this were to be done, it must be implemented for every US item, not pick and choose which item is wanted and which can be neglected. Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was quoted as saying that boycotting all US goods was bad because some of them were owned by Muslims. I wonder if he meant that it would be okay to boycott US goods that were distributed by the Chinese and Indians but not the ones distributed by the Muslims. I hope not. For the boycott to work, all US goods must be rejected. But it is not something that can easily be done in this age and time as we're all interdependent on each other.

Liverpool Surrenders English League Title to Manchester United

It's official. 

Liverpool dropped another 2 more points today when it drew with lowly Stoke City.

This hands the title to Manchester United who are close behind Chelsea and Liverpool but with 2 matches in hand.

Liverpool, good but not good enough. Without Xabi Alonso, Liverpool look so mediocre. And this was a player Rafa Benitez was so keen to sell earlier in the season. And without Xavi, Liverpool looked lost. Players like Lucas should be wearing Liverpool colors - he's just an average player and should be playing for teams like Stoke and not Liverpool. 

While Manchester United have all world class players, Liverpool have average players like Lucas on their team. No wonder the Liverpool midfield was misfiring constantly.

Israel In Big Trouble

While the world watches Israel's mighty air force bombard Gaza and not do anything about it except for a lame United Nations verbal warning, more Hammas militants are being groomed to make an onslaught on Israel. It's just a matter of time before a full onslaught by Islamic militants on Israel will happen. And that ladies and gentlemen, will be the start of World War III.

There's a website called Mammoth List, which in my opinion, is a legalized, internet pyramid scheme.

Read what the websites asks you to do. The title reads:

"FOR URGENT RELEASE:  A Sure-Fire Method to Build A Mammoth List In Record Time AND Have People Falling All Over Each Other, Eager To Pay
YOU To Add Them To YOUR List!"

And then it goes on to add the following:

 
 

How It works:

When you join MammothList.net you enter your name, email address, and a personal password to access your member's area. An email is then sent to you immediately with a validation link in it. You must click on that link to validate your email address. Then you can login to Mammoth List. The first time you will find a list of 5 names at the bottom of the page. At the top you will see your account balance is $0.00. Under that is a Deposit Funds button. You will need to deposit $12 ($10 plus a $2 admin fee to help cover payment processor fees and website expenses) first, which will give you a balance of $10. Then you will click on one button to pay all 5 people on your list at one time. Each of those 5 people will receive $2 to their Mammoth List account balance and an email notification telling them they just receive a $2 payment and a new list subscriber.

Starbucks and Donations

I spent New Years day at the Borders bookstore at the Curve, Mutiara Damansara (close to the 1Utama shopping center). I forked out close to RM700 for books on chess, world history and some motivation books. What a nice way to start the year off.

Since I was with my wife and her brother, I thought I'd take them to Starbucks for some coffee. I rarely ever drink at Starbucks. I believe Starbucks is just an overrated coffee shop. Only pretenders drink there and I'll tell you why later.

I purchased 3 tall drinks (tall is the smallest size on the menu) and two muffins, which cost me close to RM50. Okay, why not, after all, I don't do this often. You can see the bill below.

Then I was approached by a young man and his lady accomplice. Apparently they were getting some donations for the orphanage in Negri Sembilan. They produced their identification card, their badge and some letters from some government agency showing their eligibility to go and obtain funds to help the orphanage. I shelled out RM10 for the car sticker, as shown below, which, according to the young man, is tax exempted.

But what surprised me the most was that I was the only one among all the Starbucks patrons who gave any support to this young man and the orphanage that he was collecting for. I mean, come on, I was not the richest person having their drinks at Starbucks that day. There were many wealthy people there - you could guess from two things: they were wearing expensive clothing and jewellery and the fact that they were drinking coffee at Starbucks and most of them had more larger, and expensive drinks, compared to what I was having. Couldn't any of them spare another Rm10 to help the orphans? Is this how the rich get richer? I was really disgusted and disappointed to see people brush off this young man. I know everyone was having a good time on new years day, but the least they could do was to think of the children that had no homes or families to go to, and provide them with some cheer. But you know what, what goes around, always comes around. Life always has a way of playing the same trick on you that you play on others at times when you least expected it.

This reminds me of someone I know in the Jesus Caritas parish who had a young child with a handicap. He came to church begging for some money. That's fine. What irked me was that he still lived in a large double storey house in Petaling Garden, Kepong and drove a big car. He could have easily sold off his car and gotten a Kancil if his child needed the money, couldn't he? Also, he was moving to a large home in Petaling Jaya. And yet, he had the cheek to go to church and ask for money from the poor. These are the worst hypocrites you can ever find. And yet, these people are more wealthier than the majority of us.

These people make me sick!

Malaysian Government Afraid of Christians

In a move that clearly shows the Malaysian governments fear of Christianity, it has banned the Bahasa Malaysia portion of the Catholic newspaper, Herald.
